Transition to Healthcare Education and Training
In 2015, the facility shifted its focus to healthcare education and training. Consequently, the space was repurposed for healthcare simulation and clinical education. This change incorporated advanced medical training technologies, replacing the general-purpose technology that the facility once offered.
Updated Technology Features at SETEC
Currently, the technology setup includes:
- High-Fidelity Simulation Labs: These labs feature advanced audiovisual systems that simulate real-life medical scenarios.
- Debriefing Rooms: These rooms allow for the review and analysis of simulation sessions, supporting reflection and learning.
- Specialized Medical Equipment: The facility now includes ICU beds, labor and delivery suites, and emergency department setups.
- Integrated Control Rooms: Instructors use these rooms to manage simulations and monitor activities efficiently.
These facilities aim to enhance clinical education and no longer support general-purpose events.
Availability of Previous Technology Equipment
It is important to note that the general-purpose technology equipment, such as LCD projectors, document cameras, and audience response systems, is no longer available. Instead, the current infrastructure focuses exclusively on healthcare simulation and training.
